[To Bokuto everything's fun so that's not a good thing to ask! They'd never leave this place.]
I like fighting games! And pinball! Oh! Also Pacman! That one's my fave!
[He's already scouting around for the machine- he'll need a bit of snooping to find it.]
It's this yellow, little dude that eats dots in a maze and little ghosts are chasing him! You have to get all the dots and not be caught by the ghosts!
I am not so sure... ghosts are ghosts I guess. Ah! Here it is!
[The machine was in the corner of the room, blinking happy at them, big screen showing off the said "yellow dude" and ghosts behind him.]
I didn't play in a while, haha. Let's see...
[He walks up to it and starts the game. The all too familiar 'wakawaka' noise is a bit muffled from all other arcade sounds, but the game displays exactly what Bokuto said- yellow ball collecting the dots while ghosts chase him.]
[ She will continue to watch, then, cheering for him and even grabbing his arm to squeeze when it gets so, so close! He's actually keeping her at the edge of her seat, here! ]
[She's too kind! His teammates would probably tease him about it.]
Mmm, a game to play together... oh! There are basketball free throws! Or-
[-a box catches his attention from the corner of the eye-]
Oh, damn! Crane machine! Come! [He takes her hand and makes their way through the crowd over to the crane machines.] These! You put a coin in it and then you navigate the crane to pull out the plushie! It's deceptively easy. I wanna win something for you! [He announces and starts peering around the machine until he finds something suitable.
[He'll treasure it. A lot! He treasures all things people give him (though those things are all in Japan...). He grins, pops a coin in the machine and leans in, trying to gauge where and how to grab the plushie.
He's determined to get it.]
Hmmm... 'kaashi was so good at this back home, I wonder how he did it... Oh! This should be it! [He peers over to the side to check and then tries to pick it up. It goes up but it slips from the crane before it hits the top.]
[ Tell her about your life back home, Bokuto! She's admittedly very curious... She wonders what kind of friends he has, if he's so energetic all the time. Does he have a friend who's like her? Serious and always proper? Or are his friends just as happy as he is? ]
Oh! You almost had it! [ She laughs, covering her mouth. ] Okay, once more?
Oh! Akaashi! [That's a bit different from what he said...] He was my teammate back in highschool. We went together to Volleyball Nationals twice in a row! Later I went to pro scene for volleyball and he went into book editing, but we keep in contact. Well... kept, in contact.
[He didn't see Akaashi in this place. While he misses his friend and wants to see him, it's kind of better he's not here.]
Yep! He's a very smart guy! Volleyball was something he was passionate about but not something he wanted for a career.
[He focuses on shifting the crane around as he talks-]
Mhm. I started taking my training very seriously in middle school [but no one else did so...] and continued into high school! After that, I went to the V-league. Took a bit of time, but I'm playing for division one now in a volleyball league. I hope to go to the Olympics one day, with our national team!
[He lowers the crane and when it lifts up, the doll doesn't fall off! He cheers loudly-] I GOT IT! [The crane drops it down and he picks it up, giving it to her with a grin.] For you! Owlexander!
Olympics? What's tha— [ Oh, but her attention is gone the moment the plush is out of the machine. ]
Oh my gosh! You got it! [ She takes it, closing the distance between them, so she can tip toe, pull him by the collar, and give him a kiss on the cheek, too. ] Thank you. He's so cute.
[His grin becomes even wider when she smooches his cheek. He's lightly flushed, but he's just happy overall- it's a good day today!] Hehe, I'm glad you like it! [It's a cute owl, everyone should like it!]
Olympics? OH! Olympics is a HUGE world tournament where countries gather the best people in sports and come to compete against each other! So like, my country Japan would compete against other countries like Brazil, Italy or America! It's the single, biggest tournament in the world!
You're— You're going to represent your country? That's such a big deal! Oh, I hope it happens!
[ When it happens, anyway. That's so exciting! Representing your country and upholding the laws and values is so important to Weiss. She cares a lot about her kingdom, so she imagines it's such a big honour to be part of the Olympics. ]
I hope so too! I'll practice a lot and be the best!
[Although, it's less of a law and military, but it's still a big deal because the entire world gets to see you and hear your name. And he's a sucker for attention. A lot of things changed about him since he was in high school but that was the one thing that remained the same.]
You said you wanted to fish out one as well, right?
no subject
[Bokuto taps his chin-]
I think you need to score at least 95% of the song perfectly for that.
[He's never seen anyone do that on their first try.]
Don't worry! You'll get better! You're natural at this!
no subject
[ There are a lot, after all! She's not sure what's fun. ]
What do you like playing?

Let's see how far we can get!

Go, Bokuto! There's one coming after you, look out!
no subject
[He manages to beat level one-! By a sliver! He's really rusty, huh?]
Next, next!
no subject
[ She certainly looks surprised. Maybe it's a higher difficulty? Either way, she'll watch the same way and warn him when he needs one! ]
no subject
[And true enough, the little ghosts seem to be both smarter and faster! Bokuto's narrowly dodging them.]

no subject
Ah, man! They got me!
[The yellow, nomming ball poofs out of existence and red 'game over' flashes over the screen. Bokuto grins at Weiss,] Wanna give it a go too?
no subject
And— it's okay. I might panic so much if I play.
no subject
Haha, that's okay! It doesn't matter if you lose, you can just try again! It's always good to try something at least once.
no subject
Maybe there's an easier game, though. Or something that's... like a puzzle? Oh, what about something we can play together?
no subject

VERY suitable.] That! I wanna win you that little owl!
no subject
Okay. Then... what if I get you something, too?
[ They're going to spend so much, huh? ]
Like that one! That's gonna be yours.

[He'll treasure it. A lot! He treasures all things people give him (though those things are all in Japan...). He grins, pops a coin in the machine and leans in, trying to gauge where and how to grab the plushie.

Almost! I'll definitively get it this time!

[ What a strange guy, this Akaashi... ]
Was being a professional what you wanted, since you were a kid?
